The Sp. z o.o. (limited liability company) is the most popular type of company in Poland – and one of the most common questions we hear is: can I set one up without a residence card?
The short answer: yes
All foreigners can register a Sp. z o.o. You don't need any specific kind of temporary residence card or visa – as long as you hold a valid passport, you can proceed with registering the company.
What you can do
You can either start a new company or join an existing one. You can become both a shareholder and be appointed as a board member.
Our advice
Registering a company can be difficult, and if it's not done right it may cause you a lot of issues. That's why we strongly advise having a lawyer take care of the process and all the related paperwork.
