When you register a company in Poland, two things are on everyone's mind: how much will it cost, and how long will it take? Both depend entirely on which of the two routes you choose: through a notary (paper application) or through the S24 platform (electronic application).
Route 1: The traditional notary route
The classic method. A lawyer prepares the documents in hard copy, you sign the company agreement at a notary, and the application goes to the registration court.
Costs (the more expensive route):
- Notary fee – 160 PLN + VAT for 5,000 PLN capital, plus ~150 PLN for copies
- Sworn interpreter – if a shareholder doesn't speak Polish, their presence is legally required (250 PLN net + VAT per hour)
- Application fee – 600 PLN
Timeline: by law up to 7 days, in reality usually at least a month.
Route 2: The S24 platform
The simpler and now more popular option. Documents are prepared electronically and signed with a Trusted Profile (Profil Zaufany).
Costs (much cheaper):
- Application fee – 350 PLN
- No notary or interpreter fees
Timeline: by law up to 1 day, in practice 1–5 business days.
Which should you choose?
If your company doesn't need detailed customization, we recommend the S24 platform – it's cheaper and faster. That said, a registration done incorrectly can cause real problems later – which is why it's worth having a lawyer handle it.
