Employer Declaration to Entrust Work to a Foreigner

The declaration to entrust work (oświadczenie) is a simplified route to legally employ a foreigner – faster and cheaper than a full work permit.

For nationals of which countries?

The declaration is available to nationals of selected countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia.

For how long?

The declaration allows work to be entrusted for up to 24 months.

How to register it

The employer registers the declaration with the district labour office (in person or online via praca.gov.pl). The fee is PLN 100. Once registered, the foreigner may start work.

Declaration vs. work permit

The declaration is faster and cheaper, but only for selected countries and for a limited time. All other cases require a work permit.

Employer obligations

The employer must sign a contract on the terms in the declaration, register the worker with ZUS and inform the office whether the foreigner has taken up the work.
